Battery Diva

Hey,

on DN I test a really funny Deck at the moment.
Some Batteryman-Monster, because they are Floater. A Deep Sea Diva Engine to have good Tuner. Some Dark Stuff because BLS.

When I get a Bulb, I will test a Plant Engine instead of the Divas. Plant Engine means 1 LfB, 1 Bulb, 1 Spore, 1 Dandy and 1 Debris Dragon.

MetaGameCall FTK - you looked forward to this post

Hey guys,

today I will tell you about the Deck I work on the last time.
What do a Deck need to have a chance in the Metagame? First, it has to be real fast. And my Deck is, because it has a good option to FTK.
Second it have to be consistent. This is a little problem, because my Deck has in 1 of 10 Duels an auto-lose hand.
Also important is the surprise of your opponent, because when your opponent don’t know your Deck, playing against it is harder for him. Actually most of the builds from one Decktype look the same. So when you play against X-Saber you know mostly all the cards your opponent play.
Now, take a look what Deck I mean:
It is the EMPTY JAR!
Paul Cooper makes the Deck public in the last time, but I won’t post today about Cooper or his success. I will do that in a special post.
The Empty Jar Deck is a Deck Destruction OTK. You flip your Morphing Jar up and then face-down again. You draw more and more cards, which help you to flip the Jar and your opponents Deck is empty after flipping the Jar enough.
You can build your Empty Jar Deck around one of the following combos:
You can give your Jar with Shiens Spy or a card with the same effect to your opponents side of the field. Then you flip him up and down with Swords of Concealing Light and Forest’s Rustle (releases in Photon Shockwave).
But the normal variant is a bit different: You flip you MJ up and down with Book of Taiyou, Book of Moon, Book of Eclipse and A/D Changer. To get the right cards you play cards like Dark World Dealings or other draw cards. You don’t play a real big flip flop Engine, but it is enough, because you recycle the cards with A Feather of the Phoenix and Magical Stone Excavation.
Here is my build:
Monsters:
1 Morphing Jar
1 Sangan
2 Maxx “C”
3 A/D Changer
3 Deep Diver
3 Swift Scarecrow

Spells:
3 Book of Eclipse
3 Book of Taiyou
1 Book of Moon
2 Hand Destruction
2 Dark World Dealings
3 Upstart Goblin
3 Magical Mallet
1 Card Destruction
3 A Feather of the Phoenix
2 Magical Stone Excavation
1 Giant Trunade
3 Gold Sarcophagus

Traps:
None

There are no real special Techs in the Deck, but you actually don’t see Pot of Duality. When he get his Reprint I will obviously add it, but the Deck is without the Pod also really consistent.
Most awesome in this Deck is the fact that your opponent helps you a lot. Lots of Deck draw many cards in the early game but the players has only about 2 outs in the main deck (Effect Veiler).

That’s all for today, thanks for reading!

(Angels) TENGU-DECREE! Deck Discussion + Locals

Hey guys,
Yesterday I told you that I have a really interesting Tengu-Decree-Angel so today I will Blog about it.
When you read the GenCon Coverage it’s always “I play this and that, set 4-5 to the Backrow and afterwards it’s your turn!” That sucks! I don’t know if Storm is really needed back and I won’t post about it. But until the Banned List you have to answer the backrows. Angels don’t have Hyunlei and can’t blow up the field as much as Plant and Salvo Builds can do it. The only cards which are helpful are Xing Zhen Hu and ROYAL DECREE. All other stuff isn’t permanent enough (Trap Stun) or handicap yourself too much (Malevolent Catastrophe) or only destroy one card (Dust, Breaker). MST and Trunade are staple, no discussion needed.
Tengu seems really rand0m in an Agent Angel Deck, but it is the best answer against your opponents Tengus. Also it eats the Backrow, because Warning, Judgement etc. will always hit Tengu. The Reborn is additional a good beatstick and the most Fairy cards have lower ATK. Last but not least Tengu is all in all a real consistent card. If you have to you can tribute it for Kristya, you can use him for XYZ-summons with Jupiter or Mind Control or you only synchro with him. The combo with Birdman is also awesome.
Now, 6 Slots are gone. The most important Engine is the Agent. 3 Earth, 2 Venus, 1 Jupiter, 3 Shine Balls, 3 Hyperion and 2 Kristya (but I only have 1 Archlord L) are Staple. Then you add Cards from the Sky x2, Birdman x1, Dimensional Alchemist x3 and your monster count is almost ready.
You play Decree, but you need protection – for your monsters and your LP. Honest is staple, Enemy Controller is really flexible, Forbidden Chalice is nice, because it push your monster and it stops the effect of the opponents gamebreaker. Level Limit Area B is quite funny, because Venus runs over about everything, also the XYZs are really strong with it. Also you can add cards like Tragoedia, United we stand or Swords of Revealing Light if you want to.
Against OTKs Battle Fader is a real good card. In combination with Alchemist it annoys your rival a lot and it can protect you over rounds.
With Decree there is a real nice combo: Activate Royal Oppression for +1, let it stay on the field until your opponent destroy it or you can spam everything on the field. Then you have Decree and RO isn’t interesting for you anymore. Your opponent won’t destroy RD, because MST, Dust, etc. would hit the RO.
This is the main build. The build I tested isn’t perfect, you can find in on eTCG, here is the link: http://www.etcg.de/yugioh/decks/deck.php?id=67803
In the extra Deck are the new cards from GENF missing. Actually they are too expensive and I won’t buy them until they are cheaper.

On Wednesday I was at Locals with the Deck. My Side where complete MetaBeat. I sided out the Venus Engine with Shine Balls, EC, LLAB, Birdman, some Hyperion etc. and sided in normally about 12 cards. Here is the List:
2 Breaker
2 Rai Oh
2 Cyber Dragon
1 Jupiter
1 Chaos Sorcerer
1 Kycoo
1 DD Crow
3 Dimensional Fissure
2 Smashing Ground.

1st round was against T.G. I won the first game, sided in the MetaBeat-Board, but lost the second game. In the third I don’t have real problems, because Fissure and Decree at the start.
2nd round was against Formula Monarch. I lost at first, because I don’t draw anything, but he didn’t see anything from my main strategy beside the Tengus. I only boarded in Kycoo and  Crow and then he got Trish’d. The third game Fissure did the Rest.
3rd round was against Gladi. I hate them. 0:2, my board was bad against it.
4th round was against Tengu Plant. The winner gain a TU so the motivation to win was still alive. The first game was awesome. Both spamed a lot of stuff, but all in all I lost, because the Plants need less SetUp for big plays. My MetaBeat Board won the second game with Decree, but he also boarded  the Plant-Enginge out. The last duell was really tough, he made a high risk move  and I couldn’t answer good enough, so I lost.

Conclusion:
+ Tengu was awesome
+ One Kristya is enough….in my build
+ Decree won lots of games
+ RO + RD afterwards is amazing
+ Lots of diversity in the Metagame at locals
- lots of normal Board cards are really strong against me (Rai Oh, Catastrophe, Pachy, Smashing, etc.)
- Gladi kills me
- Final result not good enough
- When I play without Venus my build isn’t explosive enough

That was all for today, thanks for reading!

(Angels) 1st Game: Abuse TG Librarian -> Use Side Board -> Win 2nd Game with MetaBeat

Hey guys,

to use Librarian perfectly you have to play as much Lv. 2 and 3 Monsters as possible. Also cards which negate Specialsummons aren't useful.
So, what Cards do we mustn't play?
Oppression, Kristya, Barrier Statue of the Heavens.
So, what options to we have?
Lv. 2: Earth, Shine Ball, Herold
Lv. 3: Venus, Birdman, Banisher of the Radiance.
WHAT? Banisher? Yes!
Banisher is really amazing, it kills the Tier-1-Decks XSaber and Plant. Because of playing without Kristya our MatchUp is worse against those Deck, but Banisher compansate that. Absent Kristya we have less cards who needs the graveyard. Honest + 2 Herold (only 2 because of the Board (later more) and DD-factor) + 3 Hyperion and Reborn. None of that cards need more than 2 Fairys in the grave so they aren't really DD with Banisher.

Yeah. All in all in game 1 we have so many options to Synchro for Librarian. Then we can abuse it with our 8 Tuner and win easily.
But what to we do in Game 2? Our opponent know our Deck now and could board cards against the Deck.
My idea is an real MetaBeat-Board. We board out the complete Fairy-Engine and side in the AntiMeta-Stuff Cyber Dragon, Pachycephalo or Jowgen, Breaker, DD Warrior Lady + Reinforcement of the Army, Dimensional Fissure, Smashing Ground and Royal Oppression.
All Slots in Side are filled, only heavy decision is now playing with Pachy or Jowgen.
You have to set Pachy 1st before you can clear the Synchros. So a Tengu come, run into Set Pachy, both are destroyed, but a new Tengu come. Jowgen doesn't have that problem. You play him, use the Effect, destroy the Tengu and a new don't come. Probleme is that his ATK is lower, and you have to discard a random card.
Another fact is that Jowgen is Light. That is good and bad in one. You can use Jowgen for Light of Redemption and save it with Honest, BUT Light Improsing Mirror and Ally Salvo is a big problem.
Actually I don't have Pachy, so I am going to test Jowgen 1st.

A complete build is following in the next days, because I must find a consistent one before posting. The biggest probleme is that you have to play a Fairy-Engine which is small as possible, but the cutbacks mustn't jeopardize the consistentce.

(Project Angels) F**k with Librarian

Hey guys,

the T.G. Hyper Librarian is available now and it a really imba card.
You actually have three options: play with it, play explicit against it (and lose, lol) or stop playing YuGiOh for a short time.
In the Angel-Deck the Librarian is really amazing, because it is so easy to get Lv. 5. You play about 6 Lv. 2 and up to 3 Lv. 3 Tuner and all works perfect for synchroing the Hyper T.G..
You can start easy with Earth+Birdman+Protection in your hand and then make in the 2nd turn +3 or something and win the game.
I like mor and more the fact selling Kristya, because when you play with Kristya you have to play less Tuner. Without Kristya you can play up to 9 Tuner (Herold, Birdman, Earth x3) and abuse the Hyper T.G. really hard. Only for synchroing I will test Tengu so that I can synchrosummon more and more when I control the Hyper T.G.
BUT you don't only have to integrate the Hyper T.G., you have to answer you opponents Librarians. With Herold of orange Light the Angels have already a good answer, but I don't know if that is enough. I think Veiler or Forbidden Chalice aren't good enough, because they aren't permanent and only make the abuse slower. My personal favorite is by now Fiendish Chain, because it is permanent and also stops attacks, so you can save the Earth with it when you have to.

That where my 1st thoughts about the T.G. Hyper Librarian, thanks for reading.

(Project Angels) Play without Kristya

Hey guys,

The Nationals are over, I can't go to the European Championship, because I am in holydays and also don't have the Quali, so all in all there is no big event for me in the future.
Everybody know that Kristya get a reprint, but nobody knows where. I think we get the reprint at September at the earliest.
I am going to sell my 2 copies at eBAY. Here is a link to my auction! I hope I get about 60€, because I bought it for about 30€, so I have a 100% win-quotient.
I want to keep on playing the Deck, so I need a build. I know netdecking is random, but I am going to start my testings with the following build. Florian Amelang made the Top 32 with the Deck at the Nationals. Good work btw!

3x Master Hyperion
3x Herald of Orange Light
3x Genex Ally Birdman
3x The Agent of Creation - Venus
3x The Agent of Mystery - Earth
1x Honest
3x Mystical Shine Ball

3x Pot of Duality
3x United We Stand
2x Mystical Space Typhoon
1x Mind Control
1x Monster Reborn
1x Dark Hole
1x Book of Moon
1x Giant Trunade

2x Solemn Warning
2x Trap Stun
2x Dimensional Prison
1x Mirror Force
1x Solemn Judgment

1x X-Saber Urbellum
1x Colossal Fighter
1x Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Boundary
1x Stardust Dragon
1x Scrap Dragon
1x Avenging Knight Parshath
1x Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Boundary
1x Black Rose Dragon
1x Magical Android
1x Armory Arm
1x Ally of Justice Catastor
1x Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth and Sky
1x Scrap Archfiend
1x Ancient Holy Wyvern
1x Chimeratech Fortress Dragon

2x Consecrated Light
2x Puppet Plant
2x Cyber Dragon
2x Snowman Eater
2x Nobleman of Crossout
2x Dust Tornado
2x Chain Disapperance
1x Malevolent Catastrophe

I will ignore the Side and Extra Deck, it's only written here for the sake of completeness.

The Maindeck is really interesting.
He played the mxaimal copies of all monsters. Also 3 Birdman, what is most interesting. The Birdman come always special summon, what could be deathdraw with Kristyas, but he played no Kristyas, so Birdmans deathdraw rate is lower.
3 copies of Venus is also interesting, but it is in his buid a good choice for 2 reasons: 1st are the 3 Birdman. Venus + Birdman are a really good synchrooption and you can give an Earth to your hand (with Birdman) and search again with Earth then. That means +1, but you need the targets. 2nd reason is United we stand (UWS). UWS is a really amazing equip-spell, not only because of the Daigusta-OTK. With 3 Venus you have easily Venus + UWS what means a really big Beatstick.
He ignore Treasure of Heaven, but play 3 copies of Pot of Duality. When you have the money a logical choice, I will test only 3 Treasures, I don't think that matters so much, even if PoD is clearly better.
Mind Control is a good choice with the 3 Birdman. You can give a Synchro back to the ExtraDeck or play a big Synchro on yourself.
2 Warning - moneycard. I am going to play BTH or Debunk, don't know yet. Or maybe a crazy thing like "Forced Back" oder "Compulsary Evacuation Device".
Interesting is Trap Stun. It is always the same discussion. Dust Tornado or 7 Tools or Trap Stun like Florian played it. Dust Tornados were in my build the right choice, because I control and don't really rush big or want to OTK. In his build the both other choices could be good. Warning kills the Deck and 7 Tools is a really good answer, but the Rush is more important and with UWS you could OTK easier, so Trap Stun could be a good decision also. I will test both.
Interesting is that he didn*t play Torrential Tribute, Miraculous Descent, Call of the Haunted or Dimensional Alchemist.
He didn't play TT because he want to save the Earth and the Venus and not destroy the whole field. Also he doesn't have the awesome combo "play Alchemist, remove a monster, play TT". So this decision is obvious.
Descent or Call could be good cards with UWS, because you get more monster, but Florian decided to play less deathdraws as possible and both are death cards in the early game. When I play with 2 or 3 Treasure Descent is less dd and I have to test it.
Alchemist wouldn't be good in that deck than in mine because you don't really need the big monster. Alchemist normally get you Kristya or Hyperion early, but none of that cards are real central in here.
A funny choice could be Pot of Avarice, because after the 1st Venus you normally doesn't have any Shine Balls anymore, what could kill you in the lategame. So you could play PoA to get them back from the Grave or Necroface to get them back from the RfG-Pile. I don't any other card which put cards from the RfG back to your Deck, is there?

With that thoughts I end.

1] Kinetic
1] Gorz (Day 2: Rivalry of Warlords)
2] Smashing Ground
1] Burial from a DD (Day 2: Debunk, what is awesome)
2] Gozen-Match
2] Chain Disappearance

Round 1: vs. Enrico H. (Gladi)
I won the 1st game easy, because he couldn’t fusion. Then Trishula + Kristya were just awesome. The 2nd game I lost, because he started with Gladi + 2 Chariot + Warning. 3rd game I lost too, because I didn’t draw monster. The duell was really quick, but my match-up against Gladi ist just too bad, maybe Walhalla + Hecatrice in the Deck would be better.
0:1

Round 2: Michael S. (Plant)
1st game was really funny, I started with Earth + BTH. He played Lonefire and searched out a Tytanial, I answered with BTH. He used Tytas effect bringing it to the Graveyard. I had Reborn in Hand, so I played Trishula (removing Dandy from Hand and Force from field, lol) and then Reborn for Tyta and that was the win.
2nd game he started really good and bring me to 1000 lp, when he had only 2800 damage. The I played Trunade clearing the field, Hyperion (topdeck) + Kristya turning the Duell around and won 2:0.
1:1

Round 3: Kay Z. (Samurai)
He was really young and opened game 1 with Portal + SSU so I lost. Kristya won the 2nd game for me. 3rd game I didn’t get damage, because he didn’t have removals against Kinetic. Then he made a big misplay, because he thought Double-Edged Sword Technique can bring back Shien’s Squire, but it doesn’t. So I told him, he had to bring back Shi En + Kizan and in the End Phase he died because of Double-Edged drawback.
2:1

Round 4: Torben (Tengu Plant)
1st game I didn’t have any chance, but it was a long duell. The important scene was the following: I had Earth and TT, Prison, Horn facedown. He played Debris to bring Dandy back and had 2 cards in his backrow. I didn’t played TT to save the Earth (lol). So he bring out BRD, I answered with Horn but he had the 7 Tools and the BRD blowed up the field. I didn’t come back after that situation.
2nd game he made lots of plus with Tengus and his 3 Pot of Avarice. PoA was the gamebreaker, because he had 6 cards in Hand where I only had 3 and on the field we had all in all the same options. Quick: I lost.
2:2

Round 5: Andre W. (Xsaber)
I love matches against Saber. 1st duell he had about plus 6 but couldn’t kill Kristya, so I beatdowned with Alchemist for the win. 2nd duell was closer. I had Kristya early, but he had Forbidden Chalice as a really good response. So he killed Kristya, but I  had already 6 Fairys in the grave. However I had enough traps to control the game. Then I draw Hyperion through Card from the Sky with the result winning tha game next turn.
3:2

Round 6: (Forgetting Name L ) Agent Angels
My match-up for mirror-matches is really good, because I play lots of protection. He was a really nice guy, but I 2:0ed him without any problems. Afterwards we talked a lot, it was nice.
4:2

Yeah, then come what have to come: My tiebreak was really bad, because some opponents dropped (I hate you! lol) and my defeats werde in round 1 and round 4 what is really bad. Altogether I ended up at place 260, but the cut where at 256. Sad.

Day 2:
I arrived really late at the location. There wasn’t an attack of the giant card and I was too late for playing the Teamcup.
I made a few changes (kicked Sorl + Horn, added 1st Prison + nothing and later instead of Prison Walhalla + Hecatrice). I played with the 3-prisons-build 2 8-people-KO-events and lostone time against Gladi in the final and the other time against Gravekeeper in round one.
Then I decided playing 1 Hecatrice + 1 Walhalla and played a 32-people Win-A-Mat tournament. I made the finals and my opponent agreed to a split. We selled the mat for 30€, so both get 15€.
Afterwards there wasn’t another 32-people-Win-A-Mat, but you could win a mat at the 8-people-events. I played, won and selled the mat for 25€. All in all I get 40€. I bought a WCQ 2011 mat for 20€ and some cards.
Day 2 was all in all a really good result for me.

Conclusion:
+ 4:2 in Mainevent without Warning + PoD
+ Proved all wrong which said my build isn’t consistent enough
+ Won 2 mats
+ really nice opponents in the Mainevent, round 1, 4, 5 + 6 were really funny
~ Hecatrice + Walhalla (both random) are really awesome, but I assesses to late
~ PoD isn’t that important, Warning sadly is.
- Didn’t made Day 2
- Sidedeck wasn’t good enough
- Selling + Trading was really difficult
- Amigo’s planning was really bad, the mainevent-hall didn’t have enough place, so lots of tables were in the Sideevent hall.
- The schedule was totally crap

All in all Day 2 was better then Day 1 for me, lol.

Thanks for reading!
